Chalta hai..!!
The biggest problem in summers is of Water supply. And it becomes worse when government reduces the regular supply of water from 1 hour to 30 minutes a day. And things become worst, when all your neighbour start using water pumps (booster- it pulls out the water from main line affecting the water supply to neighbour’s houses) and you don’t follow the same as this is wrong and illegal at the same time. When you complaint about it to your neighbour or discuss with any of your kin, the answer is always: chalta hai..!! (It’s Ok! what can we do about this?). This is not the best way to describe ‘chalta hai’ attitude, but I am sure this is one of the most typical example of it.
With time, we are becoming stronger in giving & accepting corruption, crime, social issues & inconvenience. And the good news is all these things are not disturbing our peace of mind but the bad news is “good news isn’t true”. We are avoiding and avoiding and avoiding. We are not bothered about the way we are living, about the way our neighbour are living, about the way our society is living, but we are only concerned about the fact that we are at least living. Slowly, and gradually this attitude is adding to our personality trait, and I am sure very soon in our résumé or at the time of an interview we won’t forget to mention that we have “chalta hai..” attitude, which is good for the company.
There are hundreds of activities or examples, which are not justified, but still we do because of this attitude. Earlier people, we, used to give bribe for something, which is illegal or not justified, now people (we) are giving bribe for getting things done even those are legal or right; Chalta hai..!! Jeep mein already 15 log bethe hai, 2 aur beth rahe hai..Chalta hai..!! Driving in first lane, talking on mobile..Chalta hai..!! Standing in condolence meeting and talking about shares/stocks.. Chalta hai..!! Another blast in kashmir.. Chalta hai..!! Talking vulgar or using abusive language infront of kids or females.. Chalta hai..!! Evasion of Taxes..Chalta hai..!! Throwing garbage on other’s land or infront of other’s house..Chalta hai..!! Another politician caught in scandal..Chalta hai..!! Again flood in orissa..Chalta hai..!! Ek aur break-up..Chalta hai..!! Playing music with high volume & bass at night or during exams’ season..Chalta hai..!! Cursing our own country..Chalta hai..!! Not picking up calls from clients/customers..Chalta hai..!! Talking on mobile in theatre..Chalta hai..!! Dating at temples..yeh bhi Chalta hai..!! Sitting on an imported couch, watching movie on 42″ LED & still cursing other religions/Castes..Chalta hai..!! And now cursing people of other states..yeh bhi Chalta hai..!!
On the name of change, a country can get a government changed but is it the only meaning of change? Let’s change this attitude.. Change our self..and help in changing this world.
Lets don’t give a shit; lets don’t take any shit..!! Maybe while reading this line, you have felt the inconvenience, Chalta hai..!! 😛
PS: I know whatever written above, few of the things, even I do follow with Chalta Hai..!! but I will change it..for sure..!!

Wow sir, you are a great writer, no doubt about that……..I agree on this one completely. The chalta hai attitude has had a very bad influence on our society. if we do not bring an end to this then it might damage our society beyond repair. U will be surprised to know but if we all give away this chalta hai attitude then we may be easily do away with a hell lot of other problems (and i mean real problems). if politicians leave there chalta hai attitude then we may actually be able to fight with reservation, if government officials give away with there chalta hai attitude then who knows our country may become corruption free, if general public give away its chalta hai attitude then who knows we may soon be living in a cleaner, greener and healthy society…….its all about changing one’s attitude.
attitude actually matters a lot

Good one…ya this “chalta hai” atitude is worst sometime. Aap road pe kele ka chhilka fek dete ho..”chalta hai”…uspe koi bachcha ya bujurg fisal kar gir jaye ..” nahi chalta hai”. Municipality wale guttur khula chhod de..”Chalta hai”…barish main usme log gire ” nahi chalta hai”….Raste pe koi ladki chhede..”chalta hai”…woh ladki tumhari behen ho ” nahi chalta hai”…other cast main dosti karo parents say “chalta hai”…other caste main shadi karo..” nahi chalta hai”……dot..dot..dot…there is a very thin line between chalta hai nahi chalta hai….it only matters on which side u fall…:)

I feel such thoughts should not just remain to a blog. Bhaiya why don’t you do plan a presentation or workshop for your society on the theme chalta hain. I dont have too many ideas but I believe something can be planned about.

According to movie “A Wednesday”, when we face a problem we dont try to fight it but we start adjusting with that situation and sooner that situation becomes used to for us.
The only way to get rid of various problems of CHALTA HAI is to change our attitudes. you are right sir, no government can change these problems. These are the people (means us) who can change the said problem.

you picked the most common and most irritating part of our society…unknowingly even we follow that but when it comes to any problem which belongs to us then we realise what we did since years is wrong…good line of thought !!!
in the comment I would like to say only two words “Keep Writing”

Personally I use this word frequently!! Probably thats how comfortable I have become using this word or adjust things to suit it that way and not try to adjust things to be my way!! But i feel we are compromising things at a larger perspective. It has become so competitive and fearful that people gradually tend to choose an option other than the Best.. Kyun?? “Chalta hai yaar” The point is kuch to mila!!!!! To add a few… Aaj breakfast nahi mila, “chalta hai”, late for work, “chalta hai” and on and on…Small things take this attitude to a bigger picture as you have pointed out..
Will change this attitude probably to realize tha gain for a better and the right option.
Else
“Chalta hai.. Chalne do.. Life’s like that” 🙂
