Even after knowing everything (which is impossible, though), Digital Marketers lose their track and do not know where to start. Sometimes, they start with the backlinks directly and forget the essence of On-Page SEO. This guide just tries to point out the exact course of action one should adopt to achieve higher results from the very first month.

  1. Find the right Keywords.
  2. Categorise them into Primary & Secondary Keywords.
  3. Using these keywords, find the direct competitors (Top 10) and see if they have any other keyword which we might have missed.
  4. Create an Excel Sheet with Columns: Target Keyword, Traffic, Target Page, Current Ranking. Make sure to write the correct URLs (Http, Https, WWW or Non-WWW)
  5. If there are already current rankings for any keyword and that is under 30, you can choose that page as a target page for that keyword.
  6. Login to Google Search Console and select the right target market under “International Targeting”.
  7. Inside Google Search Console, submit/add the updated Sitemap.
  8. Login to Google Analytics and take last month (current year) and last month (last year) data including total visits, organic visits, bounce rate, new sessions, average page-spend time, orders from organic searches, revenue from organic searches, total orders, total revenue, revenue etc.
  9. Run SEO Audit on UberSuggest and see if there are any broken pages, links or any other errors which can be fixed immediately.
  10. Start writing title tags and meta descriptions as per the correct guideline and using the correct targeted keywords for the particular pages as per #4. Start with the home page and take other important pages (at least 50 every month) in the order of traffic/sale.
  11. Use the target keyword in the H1 Tag, only for once, in the target pages.
  12. Use other similar/synonyms/partial keywords in the content of target pages.
  13.  Make sure all these pages have at least 400+ words of content, whereas the home page and the other important landing pages should have more than 1000+ words.
  14.  Proofread the home page and all other important landing pages.
  15.  Make sure the keyword density is less than 2% for all the pages.
  16.  Check if there are any errors related with Mobile Responsiveness or anything else on Google Search Console and get the same fixed.
  17.  Check the Page Speed of the website on Desktop & Mobile, and get it fixed so that it looks 80+ on both.
  18.  Check the Page Speed on Pingdom and make sure the website loads in less than 3 seconds.
  19.  Make sure the Website has an active SSL connection.
  20.  Make sure the Website has Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Delivery Policy etc pages.
  21.  Make sure that the correct address is listed on the contact us page or footer section of the Website.
  22.  Make sure that the same address matches with the Whois records.
  23.  Check if the website has any external links and mark them “No Follow”.
  24.  Sign-up the business on Google My Business and make sure to use the correct URL, and same address & phone number as listed on the website. The description should include all the important primary and secondary keywords.
  25.  Check if there is no bold text used especially for the keywords, no small or hidden texts used, and there are no keywords stuffing.
  26.  Run the Website/SEO Audit again on UberSuggest or SEOProfiler and check if there are any issues to deal with.
  27.  Write 2 to 3 piece of content (Blog-Post) on the website completely related to the industry and the topics should be current and as per BuzzSumo which has high traction rate.
  28.  Also, write 10 topics for the guest-blog posts and get 800 words each content written on the same. These blog-posts will be only used for getting the backlinks through guest-blog posts.
  29.  Write 20 more topics with keywords in the title, and get 500+ words blog-posts and articles written which you will be using while creating backlinks.
  30.  Make a list of all the competitors including in #3 and also make a list of top websites from the same industry. So, if you are into the business of selling Leather Shoes only, you can include all the websites which sell Slippers, Sports Shoes, Laces and what not.
  31.  Enter these competitors into UberSuggest and find their backlinks.
  32.  Compile the list and remove all the domains which have less than 40 DA/DR.
  33.  Now, further, filter the list by removing those websites which are from irrelevant industries. Please note, if you sell software, any website which falls into the category of the Internet is the one which you have to keep on the list.
  34. Also, include websites like,,, etc which have high authority and are neutral when it comes to Industry as they have all types of websites registered with them.
  35.  Further, sort the list on the basis of which website allow do-follow links and which doesn’t. Try to get maximum Do-follow links in the first month.
  36.  Further, sort the list on the basis of location or TLDr. 
  37.  Start creating backlinks and remember putting the right mix of anchor texts and pages. The daily target of 5 links should be sufficient.
  38.  Create an excel sheet which has all the information about the backlinks you have created including Date, Domain, URL, DA, PA (if new, put 0), Anchor Text, Target Page, Username, Password, Status etc.
  39.  Create a list of websites which are relevant to the industry and accepts guest blog posts and must have 40+ DA.
  40.  Contact them and follow up with them on a daily basis. Make sure, you contact at least 10 websites daily so that you can get 5 active links by the month-end
  41.  Update everything in the tracker/excel sheet which has Date, Domain, DA, First Name, Contact Email (Contact Form URL), Guidelines, Status (Paid, Positive, Convincing, Awaiting Topic Approval, Submitted Article, Article Approval Pending, Article Rejected, Rewrite Requested, Lost, Paid, Need to Submit the Article etc), Cost, Additional Comments, Article Title, Live Link, Anchor  Text, Target Page URL etc.
  42.  Get Schema enabled on the website.
  43. Try to push some Press Releases and get the coverage on Google News.
  44.  Try to get a link from Wikipedia.
  45.  Create a page like a calculator, typing test in the long run.
  46.  Keep a track on the rankings and update the sheet every fortnightly.
